Summer Session I - this session includes all classes which start between 6/4 and 7/3. The majority of the classes start on 6/4 and end on 7/3, lasting 5 weeks, but it can vary. You will not be able to enroll in more than 7 credit hours during this session due to the short period of time. If you need to enroll in additional classes you will need to work with an advisor.

Child Growth and Development
This is an Academic Transfer Credit Course Number. This is a Core Curriculum course selected by the colleges of DCCCD.
Prerequisite Required: College level ready in Reading.
Corequisite/Concurrent: Students may be required to submit to a criminal background search at any school or child care facility where they observe orparticipate to complete required coursework. Failure to pass the search will result in the student being dropped from the course.
Course Description: A study of the physical, emotional, social, language, and cognitive factors impacting growth and development of children throughadolescence. Course content must be aligned as applicable with State Board for Educator Certification Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities standards and coincide withthe National Association for the Education of Young Children position statement related to developmentally appropriate practices. (3 Lec.)
